This Privacy Policy explains how Lumina ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
We collect the following information when you use the App:
• Account information: your email address and display name.
• User content: ideas, notes, and sources you create within the App.
• Usage data: review history, mastery tiers, session statistics, and recall performance metrics.
• Device information: device type and operating system version, solely for push notification delivery and app compatibility.
• Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we store your device token to send recall reminders.
We use your information to:
• Provide and operate the App, including spaced-repetition scheduling and mastery tracking.
• Send push notifications for recall reminders (only if you opt in).
• Improve the App through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
• Communicate with you about your account or important service updates.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud-hosted database platform. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and User Content will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
The App uses the following third-party services:
• Supabase: database hosting and authentication.
• Expo Push Notifications: delivery of recall reminders.
These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We only share the minimum information necessary for these services to function.
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data stored in the App.
• Correct inaccurate information in your account.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through the App settings or your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, use the relevant features in the App or contact us directly.
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
